Jess Allen here with some rope magic! Let's take a look at Flare-Fonda Handswitch Climbs
Intro: This builds on my previous tutorial (Continuous Flares) which introduced continuous flares and Jane Fonda beats. I find it’s (i) an efficient way of warming up flares in both directions/with both hands on top, (ii) helpful for understanding leading leg direction changes, and (iii) finding the optimal timing of a handswitch up (lower hand climbs above upper hand) in the flare pathway. In this video, I’m climbing (slowly!) but there’s no reason why this couldn’t also work as descent if you brought your top hand down under your bottom hand.
