Welcome to The Parish! I have carefully curated this community of neurodivergent, hypermobile, sometimes disabled, often othered aerialists.
As a member of this space, you agree to:
Honor yourself. I gently remind you often to honor yourself.
Honor yourself throughout your time in this community by:
- Tending to your own needs (no need to care give in this space, we are all sovereign beings here).
- Take self-responsibility for your voice, intentions, and how you navigate the content.
- Pause and reflect to honor your capacity and treat yourself with compassion if you feel any activation or dysregulation.
- Ask for clarity, support, or coaching, if and when you need it, through the community group and question form.
Honor others. We are co-creating these learning containers together to promote a trauma-informed space. We are all coming into these collective spaces with different lived experiences, identities, and privilege.
Honor one another throughout your time in this community by:
- Moving through classes/trainings/tutorials with a lens of empathy, compassion, confidentiality, and respect.
- Assisting in making this a brave, strong, and regulated space for us to show up in: pause before you share to ensure your intentions and impact are aligned.
- Be open to feedback related to misaligned intentions and impact; pause before reacting, seek support/learning before responding, honor your humanity, make repairs as needed.
- Centering yourself in your OWN lived experiences and not in others. Please do NOT offer unsolicited advice, expert opinions, or imposing your own beliefs on others.
- Listening, connecting, and relating with one another in a way that honors our individual sovereignty. We are here for community-care, no need to care give, coach or 'fix' anyone here.
- Be aware of my commitment to anti-oppression and zero tolerance policy when it comes to the dehumanization of others.
Honor the offerings. All of the content, trainings, and offerings shared in this space have been carefully curated and developed with time, energy, and experience. You can honor the offerings shared here by engaging with integrity, discernment, and respect. Ways of doing that include citing work created here and referencing your learning lineage if you share it with your students. Please honor your capacity as you show up. Be sure to carve out time towards this work. Discern how you will integrate the knowledge & skills you learn into your everyday practice.
Honor the offerings (workshops, tutorials, content, trainings, etc.) by:
- Writing yourself a permission slip for how you intend to show up for yourself during the training
- Creating a plan for how you will devote time to engage in the work
- Finding a centering practice to help you stay grounded and anchored to support your focus (e.g.,: a ritual, space, item, etc.)
- Maintaining integrity. The course materials and trainings are for YOU alone and not to be shared, copied, or used in your own spaces or practices without explicit permission and to give proper reference if appropriate (this includes sharing of passwords).
Honor the space. This is not a safe space; it is a brave space. Discomfort is inevitable when growing, but discomfort does not always equal unsafe. Safety in this space is determined by each person's own level of inner safety. However, we can ensure we are co-creating a secure and stable container for us to learn, connect, and grow.
Honor the space by:
- Welcoming, celebrating and respecting diversity; disagreement is inevitable when bringing a group together but please note, I have a zero-tolerance policy for gaslighting, bypassing, personal attacks, or other forms of harm. This will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the workshops/trainings without refund.
- Refraining from coaching, unless it is solicited, and self-promotion, unless it is in the specific promotions channel within Discord.
- Staying open and willing to listen and share with intention. If something is shared and is found to be re-traumatizing or harmful, we will have a conversation and delete if needed.
- Respecting the privacy, the intellectual property, and energetic exchanges shared by myself and each member.
A note on group disagreement and conflict....
If and when conflict arises within our community, I will allow it to rise. I will not rush to hide, delete, bypass, or ignore it. I will acknowledge the conflict, allow space for community members to be seen and heard, and deal with the underlying issue rather than dehumanizing the community member who raised the concern. I believe in courageous conversations that involve practicing the pause, listening with resonance, and honoring our humanness. I will ensure to take imperfect but culturally responsive action in this online space. Although I will allow for the actions stated above, disrespect and harm will not be tolerated and may be cause for removal from the membership without refund. I have a harm repair plan in place that is regularly reviewed.
This space agreement is regularly reviewed and updated. If you have questions about this, please contact me via email at: admin@circusmobility.com.
