Rite #3: Cross-Apparatus Discovery

Discovery and exploration are brilliant tools for developing our movement practice. This is the first of several posts designed to hand you a compass and get you to take some unfamiliar pathways. You might even find some treasure along the way.

If you love training across multiple apparatus, maybe you notice similar pathways or movement patterns between them. A skill on rope may translate neatly to a skill on your trapeze. Maybe something on pole works well on lyra. Perhaps the drills on fabric give you a few ideas on straps. There are plenty of opportunities.

Even if your main love is a single apparatus, I encourage you to think outside the box (or circle if you are a die-hard hoop fan) and look at how things work on other equipment.

For this Rite, you will try a tutorial designed for a different apparatus and apply the idea elsewhere.
