Title:
Why Hollow Body Makes Your Inversion Harder
Description:
Hollow body fixes the pelvis into a forced posterior tilt before the movement has even started. And a fixed pelvis can’t respond through the arc of the leg lift — which is exactly what it needs to do.
Think about the relationship between the pelvis and femur in a squat. The pelvis has to be free to move through the range. The same is true when you’re hanging. If you’ve already locked it into a tuck, you’ve used up the range before the lift begins. The leg lift is now working against a pelvis that can’t participate.
What you actually need is ribcage stability — just enough compression to create a base. The pelvis stays free underneath it. That’s a very different thing than forcing a shape.
